The next small tool I am working on is called FiltX. The idea is simple: filter unwanted text messages using keywords you choose yourself. I wanted to put the idea here on Shiguang first, as a starting point for the work ahead.

Text messages still have their place. Verification codes, delivery updates, and important notices can all be useful. I do not want to block messages altogether. I just want the repetitive, unwanted ones to interrupt a little less. That is where FiltX begins.

I want its rules to be visible and easy to change. When you add a keyword, you should understand what you are asking the filter to do. When a rule is no longer useful, you can edit or remove it. Keeping keywords specific should also help avoid filtering useful messages along with the unwanted ones. I care more about making this easy to understand than adding a long list of features.

FiltX is still in development, with no release date set. I will work through these basic features and give the details the time they need. I hope it becomes a quiet little tool: there when you need it, and easy to forget the rest of the time.
